Tweeps Are Not Happy About Khaya Mthethwa’s New Radio Gig

Tweeps are not happy about Khaya Mthethwa’s new radio gig. The gospel singer and songwriter secured a new radio gig and tweeps are not happy about it.

A social media reporter, Phil Phela took to his Twitter page to share that Khaya Mthethwa has secured another radio gig. The singer will be joining Gagasi radio station in his hometown of Durban. He will be co-hosting alongside DJ Sonic on The Midday Connexion show on weekdays from 12 to 3 pm. “Radio: Khaya Mthethwa joins Gagasi FM. Mthethwa will co- host The Midday Connexion, 12- 3pm weekdays, alongside DJ Sonic”, Phil Mphela tweeted.

After receiving the news, tweeps shared how they feel about Khaya Mthethwa joining the radio station. Even though the gospel singer has been on radio before, they still shared their concerns about radio stations hiring famous people with no radio qualification. Mthethwa was previously on Metro FM co- hosting a Sunday morning gospel show.

Tweeps went on to share that the gospel singer has no radio talent and he should not have gotten the gig. They also shared that this is unfair for the graduates who studied media and radio production. They further added that celebrities secure these jobs through connections and also because they are well known. “Any qualification in radio & broadcasting? Or he’s using the same ladder when he won idols”, said one of the followers.

While some where bashing the singer for his new gig, others congratulated the gospel singer for his new gig. However, they shared that he should have a gotten a different slot, a Sunday slot instead. ” I love Khaya but couldn’t they rather give him the Sunday slot? or nothing at all because what credentials”, a tweep said.
