Legendary Kwaito Star, Zola Took A Moment To Honour Mam’ Busi Mhlongo who is one of the most prominent South Africa artists of all time. Busi Mhlongo was born as Victoria Busisiwe Mhlongo, a virtuoso singer, dancer and composer originally from Inanda in KZN. Amongst many other mileages Busi Mhlongo’s Urban Zulu album spent two months in the top position of Billboard’s world music charts in 1998!
In a heartfelt dedication on instagram, Zola wrote “Grateful to have had the privilege of seeing this legendary powerhouse perform before she passed on. She was a gifted artist- authentic, unapologetic, feisty, gutsy and entertaining. We say thank you Mam’ Busi for the beautiful music and your teachings through it….yehlisan’ umoya ma Afrika, Uganga nge ngane, ntingi ntingi, yaphelimali yam, yise wabant’a bam, the list is endless. #busimhlongo #guluvanamanje
