Babes Wodumo Explains Why She Is Not Expecting Any Awards Now

The most loved Qgom Queen in SA Bongekile Simelane popularly known as Babes Wodumo explained in an interview with Move Magazine why she has decided to not expect any award from now on. Babe’s first nomination was at the Metro FM Awards that took place early this year for her hit single Wololo. The second nomination was at the SAMAs where she had highly hoped she was going to get the award, unfortunately she did not. Lastly it was at one of the biggest awards ceremonies in the world the BETs where she again received nothing.

Babes specified that it is the SAMAs that she is no longer expecting anything from because she has been disappointed a lot to go through it all over again. She said she will perform at the SAMAs and will give her best. “I am happy that Wololo has been nominated for record of the year but i am not expecting anything. If i get something i will be happy and if i don’t get anything i will be fine. She went on to say that awards are no longer a big deal for her because people who win do not deserve it most of the time.

The artist also spoke of how hard she works and that she does not have time to relax. “I am the sole breadwinner at home, so if i don’t work who will take care of my family,”she said. What was more shocking is that she relies on immune boosters in order to keep her energy levels up and for her not to collapse on stage. “My fans do not know that i get tired and they sometimes see me walking on stage instead of dancing because of exhaustion.

The Wololo hitmaker is currently working on her music videos for the Wololo tour which is to commence real soon.
