DJ Tira Allegedly Stole The Idea Of The Gumba Festival-Ulundi Edition
DJ Tira is being accused by a man named Floyd Gcingca who is a Durban located event organiser from The West Is Alive Events And Management Projects. Floyd spoke to TshisaLive and revealed that the Afrotainment boss stole the idea of the Gumba Festival-Ulundi Edition from him. He went on to explain his story and said that he approached Tira in March this year and pitched the idea.
Gcingca said that the way Tira’s event was, resembled the idea idea he proposed to him a while ago. “The initial purpose was to create a hype around the Soweto derby in Johannesburg while including KZN supporters through the event and that’s exactly what Tira did, he stole my idea,” Floyd added that “although Gumba Festival is a well known annual event, Tira just used Gumba Fest – the Ulundi Festival Edition as a front.”
The festival took place this weekend during a Carling Black Label match between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. To prove his statement Gcingca provided the e-mail he sent to Tira and Tira’s response to TshisaLive.
“Kindly note that the reason I approached you about the concept I had is simple because i highly honour and respect your workmanship, and as a businessman it was always my vision to work with you. And i will not rest until that vision is realised,”reads the email from Floyd to Tira.
Tira and Floyd had meetings every now and then. Until Tira stopped responding to him and sent him an email that stated that he was too busy to work further with him. “I’m sorry my brother, my year is just too hectic, I won’t have time to work on this project,” reads Tira’s email to Gcingca.
