DJ Zinhle’s TV Show Not About Glitz & Glam But To Empower Women
DJ and Businesswoman Zinhle Jiyane has revealed in an interview with Drum publication the main objective of her TV show and that it is to empower women, not to showcase her everyday life and all the glitz and glam of being a celebrity. The name of the show is called It Takes A Village. Zinhle explained that the reality show will be shot in her hometown in KZN,Dannhauster.
Zinhle went on to explain that the women casted in her show had powerful inspirational stories that were just unimaginable.”The women on the show had powerful stories. When I sat down with them I didn’t feel worthy of their stories or journeys. I felt like they were more powerful than I could ever imagine myself being,” she said.
When The DJ announced that she will be having a reality TV show most people pictured and assumed that it will be like all the rest of reality TV shows where celebrities showcase their glamorous lives and all the senseless drama. Fans even went as far as saying it would compete with Somizi and Bonang’s show. Zinhle made clarification by stating that “it won’t be front-row seat into my life kinda of show. Instead, it a project to empower women.”
She also spoke of how taking up an opportunity to do the show has changed her life for the better.”It really changed my life and the way i see things. It’s one of those shows that will pull at your heartstrings and make you realize we’re dealing with a lot as a country. I think it will make everyone feel like we’re not doing enough,” she said.
