5-Year Old DJ Arch Jr. Still Breaking Records
When he won SA’s Got Talent at the age of 3 back in 2015 people were left speechless and shocked at what the toddler could do, now 2 years later he is still surprising everyone. He has made his entry into the Guinness World Records as the youngest club DJ in the world. This is not only good for him but for South Africa too, he is raising the Nation’s flag up so high with his extra-ordinary skills at just 5 years old.
His father Glen Hlongwane who is also his full time guidance in music expressed to TshisaLive that when he received the letter he couldn’t believe it but was utterly excited at the achievement of his son. “I was so excited and so was Oratilwe when I told him. He was very excited although I don’t think he actually understands how big a deal this is. I asked him what I should get him to celebrate, he said ‘cupcakes’,” Glen said.
on June 10 Arch and his father made their way into a bar in Cosmo City, known as Platinum Lounge, where he played a one hour set. It was his first time playing a set an hour long, he had failed previous times. His father spoke of how proud he is that his is breaking records following a Japanese’s six year old Itsuki Morita who held the title until the South African DJ arch Jr. took it away.
“To be the youngest DJ in the world is a big deal. It’s a great thing for South Africa and for black people. I’m incredibly proud of him and I think the fact that he managed to concentrate for an hour to give an impressive DJ gig is truly amazing,” said his father.
