“I am not another Black Coffee,I bring something unique to my sets” says DJ Search Winner

The winner of the DJ Search Competition Kutloano “Da Kruk” Nhlapo which was hosted by Black Coffee in association with AXE said that he is not the next Black Coffee, he’s here to introduce unique style to his sets.”I am not another Black Coffee. I am me and I bring something unique to my sets. I believe it is this uniqueness and my hard work that got me this far,” he said.

Few months back Black Coffee announced that he is holding a competition for young DJs in South Africa where they were required to register and submit their Demos online. The search went on for four long months until Black Coffee and Men’s Deodorant AXE team finally found their winner . The benefits of winning are to perform for thousands of people in Ibiza alongside Black Coffee and the luxury lifestyle for a period of time offered by AXE.

“Black Coffee is a pioneer and an inspiration to us all. He has opened the door to the world for us and I am going to make the most of it. South Africa is the leading export of house music to the world at the moment, in my opinion, and a lot of that is because of him (Black Coffee),” he said.

The 29 year old finalist went on to say that “South African and African music is in the spotlight at the moment and we have to show that we deserve our place on the world stage. For too long, African music has been synonymous with sounds coming out of Nigeria, we need to show the world that we can be global superstars.”

Da Kruk is booked to perform in Amsterdam next month and this is exlcuded to his winning at the DJ search.
