DJ Tira Lands An Acting Gig In A New Upcoming Film ‘My Zulu Wedding’

DJ Tira has gone an extra mile to prove his versatility as he ventured in a new acting role in an upcoming film titled My Zulu Wedding Movie. Other characters in the film include songstress Kelly Khumalo, Actor Pallance Dladla and international actors Darrin Hesnson and Carl Anthony Payne.

Speaking to Drum Magazine the DJ revealed how acting has always been in the list of his dream board. “It’s something I always wanted to do. That’s why I gave it my best.” He further explained how he he got role to be part of such a big film. “I just got a call from the production, which means they believed I could act, so I went for it,” he said.

He stressed that he is not planning to stick to acting but should any opportunity arise he’ll take it for sure. “You need to have talent, just like in music, but it’s not that different. You need to know how to act because I know how to sing, so acting is a different type and I’m happy with what I did. When recording a song, you do it over and over again until you get it right, same as acting,” he explained the difference he experienced from music to acting.

Working with people from the US was enjoyable and fun to him as he stated in an interview. “I enjoyed it a lot because they’re cool guys and it was fun.”

His biggest challenge was doing what directors told him to.”The director wants you to act some stream in a certain way so it took me some time to get to understand the role,” he added.
