Former Idols SA Winner Karabo Mogane Still Struggling For A breakthrough

Karabo Mogane is a young man that won many hearts in South Africa with his voice in the music competition show Idols SA on the 11th season. His winning gave people enough hope that he will make it big in the music industry and continue to bless the crowds with his magical vocals, unfortunately things haven’t been all rosy for him since his winning.

He did however get a fair chance to record music by releasing an album with a leading debut single titled Ngifuna Lo, with a music video which didn’t receive as much love and positivity as one would expect. The musician went on to open up about how he has been rejected a number of times also how he mastered a way to deal with it.  “I prayed. During that time, I realised and learned that not everybody is going to like you or be happy for your success. I eventually took the criticisms as a lesson and, four weeks later, I was over it,” said Karabo.

His tours across the country haven’t been as much of a success either, people weren’t showing up in numbers and that unfortunately led him to doubt his ability and talent to sing. “I kept asking myself what went wrong? I went to a 700-seater venue in Nelspruit but only 300 seats were filled. That hurt my feelings, I was not receiving the love I thought I would receive,” he said.

As it had been said there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, Mogane got himself a radio gig on UJ FM as the afternoon host in a show called Matters of the Heart which airs on Sundays.
