Riky Rick On Why He Gives Tough Love To Young People

Rapper Rikhado Makhado popularly known as Riky Rick is one of the famous musicians in SA who play a part in making a change in the lives of young people by urging them to do better.He is a mentor at the  Vodacom NXT LVL and has expressed why he prefers to give the youth tough love in order to push them.

“It is about pushing these kids to the limit and not doing that softly. Our generation has got softer and needs to be pushed. So‚ I make sure that I push them hard and give them tough love‚ which will make them work the hardest‚” he told TshisaLIVE. Other artists who have taken an initiative to assist these young artists is DJ Zinhle, DJ Mampintsha and Danny K to name a few. Explaining the show Riky said it is meant to allow young artists to develop themselves.

“The beauty of this show is that it allows artists to develop their own direction and not have to sign to a label. Still‚ I am very interested in working with some of them. They are all very talented but it depends on how we connect after the show‚” he said.

“It seems like everyday there is some kind of reaction that people pick up on‚ but that is generally how I am. I don’t tend to hide much‚” he added.
