SA Rock Band Southern Wild Breaks Record

Southern wild has made history in SA by becoming the first SA band to be filmed by the Deezer Live Sessions. This is an app that is under Deezer which is one of the biggest music streaming apps.

Deezer Live Sessions offer the opportunity for fans to see a rare acoustic performance by bands. Now fans will get to see Southern Wild perform. The Deezer Live Sessions present new arrangements never before seen or heard and so, for this reason, the band was filmed in a small, intimate location with a unique setup.

Southern Wild was selected to participate as one of four South African artists in Deezer Next, a global initiative designed to discover and promote new talent from South Africa and beyond. The band’s debut album Lead Role in a Classic Horror was released exclusively on Deezer, reaching over 300 ,00 streams on Deezer in countries such as Germany, Brazil,France and South Africa.

Southern Wild is a four piece band from Cape Town, South Africa. The band consists of David van Vuuren (Vocals, Guitar), Julian van Rensburg (Guitar), Alex Smillie (Bass) and Dylan Hunt on Drums. This year they have released an album titled ‘Lead Role in a Classic Horror”, it is available on these muiscal app iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Deezer and Google Play.
