Teepee On His Comeback And Making New Music
RnB Singer Teepee has made his comeback after an 8 year absence in music with a single he titled Amor and has revealed that he is currently working on an EP which is set to release soon. Speaking to TshisaLive the artist revealed the reasons he was not making music for a period of 8 consecutive years saying he wanted to work on his musical skills and his self.
“I took my own time to work on the music and myself. Of course, there was pressure to release music, but I didn’t take that into account until I felt I was ready. I believe in my music. I believe that it is timeless. And relevance is not something that I take into account. I am just focused on the music and was confident that if I had to make a comeback, it will be well received,” said Teepee.
Since most people might not remember him, he said that he isn’t moved by that but sees it as turning a new leaf and considers it a rebirth that comes with a different sound.
“I like that some people don’t know me and that I am brand new to other people. I feel like I am a brand new artist, just with the same name. People have suggested that I even change my name because it has been so long, but I still want to cater to my old followers while getting brand new ones,” he said.
He went on to state how he refused to use auto-tunes on his songs unlike most songs that are made nowadays. “I like that some people don’t know me and that I am brand new to other people. I feel like I am a brand new artist, just with the same name. People have suggested that I even change my name because it has been so long, but I still want to cater to my old followers while getting brand new ones,” he added.
