5 Of The Most Memorable Beefs Of SA Musicians
Being a celebrity doesnt make any person any less human, the feelings of hatred, envy and dislike attack anyone same way people can argue like any other person. When celebrities beef up, it becomes juicy and interesting to fans because then it proves that not everything is rosy and sweet in the other side. When most musicians are at odds they don’t usually settle the argument by going fist to fist instead they diss each other on Social Media and write some verses in their songs dedicated to the person they happen to beef with at the time, one may look at this as a way of marketing their brands while the other might just say it’s the pressure of the competition against each other they can’t stand.
Below are the beefs of musicians that have kept us all entertained by proving just how much they can’t stand each other. The funny part is these artists never artists never reconciled or called it truce for everyone to see. These are the beefs that have had all kinds of spices added to it and sure was tasteful to fans.
Cassper and AKA
This was the most followed and entertaining beef of all times, it went on for a long time. The dissings carried so much vulgar and things we weren’t aware of about the rappers. They took it to social media and even wrotes about it which by no doubt fans are aware of. In AKA’s statement he said Cassper came at him and explained his side of the beef, “He was coming up, I think it was around the Gusheshe time, and I’ve always looked out for new artists. We had even started to work on music together. One day I think he had put his video out or something, and the next day he went off about ‘I don’t have the support, no one is really holding me down, and I’m going to put this song out and show everybody.’ I think we kind of fell out, maybe because of things he said on Twitter as people do,” AKA explained back in 2015.
Mtshengiseni and Mgqumeni
Unfortunately both these Maskandi legends are no more but in their time of singing they both had many fans, there was a point where they got along until they starting composing songs where they dissing each other. The reason behind their feud was said to be Jealousy, a number of people even said that the two were bewitching each other. The feud went on for 7 years long until one of them passed on. Sadly the two Maskandi heavyweights died without calling it truce.
DJ City Lyts And K.O
K.O claimed to have nothing against City Lyts who have been constantly on his case on twitter, poking him and saying some offensive things. K.O said that he won’t entertain him because he is doing all of this as a way of drawing attention to himself. “I saw what he tweeted and I did not reply because he is a waste of my time. I don’t care about that guy or what he says anymore. He has been going at me for a long time and its getting tiring,” K.O said.
Emtee And Cruz Afrika
The conflict of the two rappers led to one of them taking the other to court. They even promised to knock each other’s teeth out. There were speculations that Cruz Afrika claimed that Emtee and some of the Ambitiouz Entertainment members pulled an illumanati saga and sacrificed one of the members inorder to get where they are today. “I can confirm that Tshepo Modise (Cruz Afrika) opened a case of intimidation against party Mthembeni Ndevu (Emtee) over the weekend. Mr Ndevu then laid a counterclaim against Mr Modise for intimidation. The matter is currently under police investigation,” Olckers told TshisaLIVE. Like most arguments it started on twitter until it escalated the two haven’t called it truce, by the looks of things they won’t.
Duncan And Zakwe
These two were once buddies until they were reported to be in conflict that only Duncan has acted on so far, he did confirm that theyr are not best of buddies anymore and that he blocked Zwakwe from his Social Media. The cause of their feud was caused by what is suspected to be jelousy buy according to Duncan “Most of underground rappers eTHEKWIN afisa ukungi bona ngiwa noma ngingalikhuluma kanjan iqiniso bazobheka into into abazofuna ukungi nemba ngayo bengibeke amabala bangikhulume ngithule ngyababuka.” Stressing that most rappers in Durban are itching to see him fail and that no matter how he can express the truth behind any statement he makes they will find something to use against him.
