Chommee Blames Brickz For The Delay Of Her Album-release
Chommee Blames Brickz For The Delay Of Her Album-release. Kwaito songstress Chommee who had just made a comeback from the music industry has revealed that the reason behind the delay of her much anticipated album is because of Brickz.
The worked on the song together titled Zikhal Epaleni which was meant to be one of the tracks on the album, the work didn’t go smoothly since Brickz was undergoing trial for rape charges. Chommee claims that she wasn’t sure if she wanted to release the song or not since Mabrigado didn’t have time to promote the song, the dancer came to a decision to release it when the Sweety My Baby hitmaker was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
“We decided to go ahead with it because he’s serving his time now and won’t be around to promote the song, but we didn’t want to appear to be insensitive to the issues (rape trial) around him at that time,” said Chommee speaking to SowetanLive.
In spite the pressure the of going trial Brickz managed to work on a few songs on the side including a a project he partnered on with his friend DJ Cleo. “We have a very close relationship and after the fall out he apologised. We kept in touch, but I was waiting for the rape case to conclude so that we could start working. It was just taking forever,” Cleo told TshisaLIVE in explaining his decision to release a song with Brickz while the star’s rape trial was ongoing.
