Heavy K Reflects On Some Heartfelt Childhood Memories. Heavy K is one of the most successful DJs in SA and he stops at nothing until he brings his fans the masterpiece music they’ll surely admire.

The DJ and music producer expressed in an interview he had on Afternoon Express that he had come a long way to be where he is having grown up swimming in a pool of poverty. The star shared a memory of his late mother who sacrificed a lot for him and his siblings so they can eat.

“I come from a very poor family. My parents had so much love for me. Even when my mother was still alive, she loved me. We are a family of four, when we ate, I would see that on my mother’s plate there would not be meat while the three of us would have meat. I would ask her why she didn’t have meat and she would say she didn’t eat meat.”

It was only when the Inde Hitmaker was older that he spoke to his mother about it and realised that she often didn’t eat to make sure her kids did.

“It killed me inside but I am a positive person and when my mother told me that it gave me more power to chase my dreams.”

The DJ has been making great success off his career so much so that he has recently managed to buy his Dad a car and a house and for his successes he thanked his fans.
