Skwatta Kamp On New Album And The Death Of Flabba
Skwatta Re-unites and is promising to release new music
Skwatta Kamp On New Album And The Death Of Flabba .It’s been 3 years since the horrifying death of Flabba who was part of the prominent Hip Hop group Skwatta Kamp. The group separated back in the mid 2000’s but has now announced a reunion which is set to be accompanied by the release of an album to feature their old greatest hits and some new songs.
The album will be a dedication to the Flabba who was stabbed to death by his girlfriend Sindisiwe back in 2015 March. “The title of the song is Conversations With Flabba because in the song we all speak to him directly. The track makes you feel something and anyone who was a fan of Flabba and Skwatta Kamp will be really moved. If Flabba had to come in the studio while we were recording the song, he would remember why he joined the group in the first place.” said Slikour who is also part of the group.
Unlike other bands who part ways due to major differences, Slikour says Skwatta Kamp didn’t part ways because of a fight. “We have never had differences, we have square fights. In fact, we fight all the time and we speak our minds in our WhatsApp group,” said Slikour.
He also says they have a family bond and Flabba’s death really took a toll on everyone. “Flabba’s death was hard on us and no one in the group knew Sindisiwe personally for her to come and apologise for what she did. Fact is, Flabba is not coming back and she has to live with herself – which is harder than being judged by us,” He added.
He only discovered last week that Sindisiwe was sentenced to 12 years for the murder. “I only found out last week because for me it’s too heavy to keep following it up. What’s done is done.
“We have a relationship with Flabba’s mother and his family knows they can reach out to us anytime and all the royalties for his work will continue to go to his family,” said Slikour.
