Maskandi Star Mjikijelwa Dies After Suffering Lung Infection. South African has once again lost another talented and most loved musician Sbongseni Ngubani popularly known as Mjikikelwa, the star died in the early hours of 25 May 2018 at a Durban hospital after being admitted three days ago.
The 35-year-old was suffering from a lung infection.His manager Thembi Ngubane has confirmed his death. “He passed away this morning at 5 o’clock, in a Durban hospital. We are here right now. Sibongiseni Mjikijelwa Ngubane was 35 years. He had a lung infection. We can confirm the news to South Africans.”
A while back Daily Sun reported the news that one of the Maskandi artists claimed he has died already but his sister responded claiming that they were fabricated lies she even said that Mjikijelwa was recovering well.
“We will take action. What shocked us most was the fact that the person who started the rumour is also a musician, How could he do such a thing.” Said Thembi Ngubane the sister of Mjikijelwa.
The sister went on to add that her brother had been struggling with some health problems but is strong so he survives. According to Thembi the health problems began back in January this year.
“My brother was in pain. He had to go in and out of hospital because of his health problems. Doctors can’t tell what’s wrong with him but I think he is getting better.” She added.
