Arthur Mafokate Was Unaware SAMRO Fired Him

Arthur had to find out from Twitter that he was fired.

Arthur Mafokate Was Unaware SAMRO Fired Him. Arthur’s birthday yesterday wasn’t well celebrated as he ended the day off with the news that SAMRO (South African Music Rights Association) had fired him and was unaware of it. Mafokate was a non-exuctive director at SAMRO.

“It was unanimously agreed that an ongoing case involving Mr Mafokate and Ms Busisiwe Twala has continued to attract undesirable and wuite frankly worrying publicity, which has also caused serious harm to the public perception of the organisation.” Read statements.

Responding to entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela, Mafokate stated “Wow! Did I miss something?” to which Mphela responded “they didn’t tell you? Well, Jerry Mnisi is quoted on behalf of the board in a statement following this morning’s press release. You are fired.”

Mphela’s tweet was accompanied by a screenshot of an excerpt of the statement sent out by SAMRO. As explained earlier, the music body made their intentions public via a statement which read :

“in the SAMRO board meeting held on the 28 June of 2018, the board resolved that notice be given to Mr Mafokate of the decision to initiate the process to remove him from the SAMRO board as a non-executive director.”
