Prince Kaybee on TNS drama “I bought him clothes, a phone and gave him a car and he betrayed me”
The drama between Prince Kaybee and TNS unfolded to the shock of many people after revelations that the Wajelwa musician was living up to the title of his song. His then girlfriend is said to have had an affair with his friend and co-producer TNS.
In a lengthy post addressing the issue Prince Kaybee wrote;
“Hi guys??
I have recieved reports from both the media and public relating to false allegations made by TNS, real name Nkazimulo Ngema against, me about non-payment for songs we co-produced “Banomoya and Club Controller”
I would like both the public and the media to know that the allegations made against me are false and they are spread by Nkazimulo Ngema with the intent to discredit my brand.
I ensured that he got bookings through my personal network and featured him on events in order to help him build his name and career.
He lived in my home for the entire year in 2018 after he told me that he has no proper shelter, clothes or money to pursue his music. I took care of his life expense during this period and I can provide proof of the money spent on him.
I bought him clothes, a phone and gave him a car to pursue his work activities. Even the studio equipment he is using right now was bought by a friend & business associate that I introduced him to.
When it comes to music royalties, as a SAMRO registered artist, he will get his royalties from the authority when they make their periodic payments because he is credited as one of the co-producer of both “club controller & banomoya” I have no power to stop him from earning royalties because we are all paid individually by the music authority.
These false allegations are painful & discouraging considering that I went out of my way to support his career and finance his dreams during the period of our personal and professional relationship only for him to betray me by having an affair with someone I was seeing at a while back.
This is a person that I believed in and took under my wing. I opened my home, studio, networks and financially backed because I believed in him as young artist. I will take the hard lessons that came with my kindness but I will not stop believing or supporting young talent because of one bad experience with a greedy individual.
I will no longer be addressing these allegations beyond this statement. My focus is now on delivering a quality album for my fans and building a musical legacy that will contribute to the future of African music.
I appreciate all the love and support that I have received from my friends, colleagues and fans during this period. Thank you for believing in me and my music.
Yours in music,
Prince Kaybee.
(Below is some proof of the money I spent on him whenever he needed the money) TAKE NOTE: This is not Royalties, that is paid by SAMRO.
