DJ Tira Excited About Fusing Kwaito With Maskandi.
The South African DJ, record label owner, producer, has stipulated that he completely stands for the historical – Maskandi – show. The event has a hashtag #Gcwalisa iMabhida. Look out people of Durban for the 30th of March.
Involving DJ Tira as one of the many performers was a great business move, there are other artists added to the list aswell. He said this is a privilege to which electrifies him to want to give his support in every way possible. In his anticipation, he reveals he wants to observe how the event will turn out and to witness firsthand such an environment of the fusion of other genres with Maskandi.
“He exclaims, this is history in the making for maskandi music which is our own sound that will put South Africa on the map.”
Who is behind the event? None but the one and only Khuzani – Indlamlenze – Mpungose; the award-winning artist has established a way to keep the maskandi music alive, it is such a great call, and the plan is to have an estimation of 60 musicians performing. Although dominating will be the Maskandi music.
“It is a maskandi celebration, but we want to attribute other artists because we also get invited to perform in different festivals.”
Mthokozisi Zuma the director of the event – #Gcwalisa iMabhida has stated the arrangements for the big day are in progression. Already the golden circle tickets have been sold. Mthokozisi has described the motivation to add diversity in the Maskandi event with artists such as Benny Mayengani and DJ Tira is to show appreciation to other genres and reveal all genres can work together as one.
