DJ Tira says the relationship between Babes Wodumo & Mampistha has always been “rocky”. – When the drama surfaced of Babes Wodumo and he alleged abuser, Mampintsha, her fans quickly pointed fingers to DJ Tira for being the abuse enabler, since then the producer and record label owner, DJ Tira has come forward to discuss his attempts in bringing peace to the relationship. He says he has always been there from the beginning of the relationship and has given his advice fir a better direction.
“I tried to guide them and give them advice on how to treat each other, but it seems to have gotten worse. They love each other but unfortunately love is not enough for her and anyone else to stay in an abusive relationship.”
According to his interview with the drum magazine, DJ Tira disclosed that the pair has had a complicated relationship.
Tira has stated that Mampintsha was a dear friend, although he insists he must receives the punishment he deserves. It is sad to witness a friendship destroyed because of the wrong choices.
“ He relates to Mandla – Mampintsha Maphumulo as someone who was a close friend although what he did wasn’t right, and he needs to get whatever punishment is due to him,”
After the outrage on social members of fans holding DJ Tira accountable for his actions, he had to respond to the extensive counterblast he encountered after the video of domestic violence surfaced. Mampinstha has been since charged with assault, arrested and released with a bail of R2000. He also claims they have abused him on several occasions in the relationship and in result he opened a counter-case of assault against his partner. He has admitted striking Babes Wodumo but to his account; he did it due to self-defence.
“ He mentions – it saddens My heart that Babes Wodumo experienced the abuse, and no woman should have to go through this. If you know me, you know that I have never, and would never, enable abuse,”
He has made it transparent; he stands against physical abuse of any kind towards women and he has disassociated himself from the situation.
