Daniel Baron Appointed to SAMPRA Board of Directors

Multi-award-winning pop artist, songwriter, and producer Daniel Baron has been officially appointed to the Board of Directors at the South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA). This appointment marks a significant milestone in Baron’s career, positioning him at the forefront of South Africa’s music rights landscape.

SAMPRA is the collecting society responsible for administering Needletime Rights on behalf of recording artists and record companies in South Africa. By ensuring fair royalty distribution for the public performance of recorded music, SAMPRA protects the rights and sustainability of the country’s music industry.

With over a decade in the music industry, Daniel Baron has become a household name and a driving force behind South African music. He is best known for hits including “Children of the Sun”, “Indestructible”, “Beautiful Noise”, “Acid Rain”, and his latest single “Up At Night”. Baron has achieved multiple number-one hits, earned several SAMA nominations, produced award-winning records for both emerging and established artists, and in 2022 was inducted into the Recording Academy (Grammys).

As the owner of The Hit Kitchen Studios, Baron writes and produces for a wide range of local acts and corporate clients, shaping the sound of a new generation of musicians.
