Zahara Reveals How She Was Underpaid By Former Record Label
Zahara Reveals How She Was Underpaid By Former Record Label – Zahara has been making rounds concerning her music journey, she has made accusations to TS Records executives TK Nciza and Sbu Leope, asserting she was not paid what she deserved for her performances including the sale of her records, let us not forget her royalties for all the times her songs were played.
This was stated by the Sowetan yesterday. She confesses she was fretting to come forth and speak about the corruption that was transpiring concerning her money because she knew that would spoil things for her. She had to live on money provided by Samro and recieving money occasionally from TS Records.
“I didn’t know that I was damaging myself… because why would I go and work and then have to beg for my money… which was sometimes a mere R10,000. Why would I go work and have to plea for that R10,000 that I need to ask for months on end? I’m not dumb, my family also knew about all this. I was at the point where I was dependent on Samro money, that comes quarterly,” she exclaimed as she help back from surfacing her dejected emotions during the interview.
However, speaking to Sowetan, TK denied all the allegations made by Zahara and said he heard figures of “R10m and R30m being bandied about in the media”, which he thought were outrageous.
“She needs prayers. I’ve not worked with her for three years,” TK said.
Although interviewed by Sowetan, the TS executive squashed the allegations proposed by Zahara and said he has learnt the star has put out outrageous “R10m and R30m being bandied about in the media”, and in his thoughts that is shocking.
