Nhlanhla Nciza Says “Guess I wasn’t crazy after all”
Nhlanhla Nciza Says “Guess I wasn’t crazy after all” – Nhlanhla Nciza has always been known for her soulful voice that makes the heart of Mzansi dance with Joy.
Over the past two years, she has resuscitated her clothing brand NN Vintage with a dash of a contemporary look that South African’s appreciate. Prominent names, socialites in Mzansi are reciprocating the love with their support which helps to promote the brand.
She ushered to social media on the 16th of May 2019 to share visuals of her clothing line on the runaway, she shared how she was ridiculed, made headlines due to her unconventional ways of doing things on the runaway. She was deemed “crazy” and told making her models dance during the showcase is driving away from the attention from the clothes. This is what the caption had to say:
I remember a couple of years ago when I asked my models to dance and be free on the runway, fashion critics ridiculed me on the blogs and newspapers and said I was crazy and was taking focus away from the clothes and disrupting the way things are done. My answer was “we as Africans need to do things our own way just because that’s how the Western world do things, does not mean we have to do the same, we are colourful people by nature” so thank you @yabaleftonline for this and for using @mafikizolo_africa song??? Guess I wasn’t crazy after all☕
We appreciate her way of thinking. we need people to know when they think of Africa, one must be drawn into its colourful beauty, from our languages, food, landscapes, culture, people and its richness and diversity. Now, Nhlanhla has used fashion to represent us, our aesthetics through her brand. We are glad she advances without the hindrance of critics.
