Ntsiki Mazwai Says Black Girls Don’t Hate Their Hair They Fear it!
Ntsiki Mazwai Says Black Girls Don’t Hate Their Hair They Fear it! – Ntsiki Mazwai is back! Nothing new, just a continuation of the never-ending discussion of black women’s hair headline.
Numerous women have different interpretations of what the natural hair movement celebration of women’s beauty means. This ranges from hair texture, hairstyle, wigs, hair colouring, extensions do not represent being natural, well, this is what Ntsiki is expressing in context.
She took to Twitter with a series of tweets to denounce weaves and the black child embracing someone else’s hair, she feels those that wear weaves fear their black hair and feel less attractive. This is what her tweet had to say: “That’s it….. you don’t hate your hair….you fear it. You internalized the fear that the others put in you BECAUSE your hair made them scared.”
What do you think? Is Ntsiki Mazwai speaking out of turn or does it make sense? Have we lost ourselves with the love of synthetic hair, are we brain-washed to emulate others and disregard the beauty that we uphold as Black Women. Are we trying to be white because we are ashamed of our black origins and the attributes it brings? Or perhaps, is it each to their own choice? Think about it.
