Top 10 Things You Did Not Know About Ntokozo & Nqobile Mbatha In 2019 – The love birds have been at it for more than a decade of marital bliss for Ntokozo Mbambo and Nqubeko Mbatha.
One of SA’s gospel power couples, Ntokozo Mbambo and Nqubeko Mbatha are celebrating 11 years of marital bliss.

  1. Ntokozo & Nqobile [and music] are synonymous with accomplished eminence and psalmist anointing. They continue to override barriers and cliche’s over the past 15 years in the industry, escorting updated and thrilling sound to the South African Gospel music scene. They have shared local and international stages singing as individual artists and together in SA’s largest Gospel ensemble.

2. You might be interested, the couple got to know each other better during their tenure at Joyous Celebration, even though their families had known each other before then. The exact date was on the 17th of May 2008, when they officially said their I do’s and they have never looked back!

3. They made an Anniversary Project album as a sum of their life and love’s journey so far, attributing people who have made an impression, footprint of substance in their journey. They have features from Joyous Celebration (as expected), Hlengiwe and Siyanqoba Mthethwa (couple from Joyous Celebration, who have become very close friends), Pastor Xola Nzo (their local Pastor), the legendary Black coffee (because
every love story has a dance track, right!)

4. In 2007 Nqobile recorded her live DVD/CD called Keep on Believing, which was produced by hubby, that was prior to saying I do to Nqubeko Mbatha.

5. Keep on Believing received a Metro FM nomination in the category Best Gospel album 2007 and three nominations at the 2008 Crown Gospel Music Awards.

6. Ntokozo and Nqobile are blessed with two beautiful daughters, one named Fanelesibonge Ayanga Mbatha.

7. Ntokozo Mbambo is a South African recording Gospel artist who rose to fame at the age of 15 when she became the youngest member to join the Gospel group Joyous Celebration, followed by the successful release of her debut album, Bambelela.

8. Ntokozo shared this one time on Anele Mdoda’s talk show Real Talk with Anele on how hubby proposed. “It was my birthday and went out on a date. I could see that he was fidgety the entire time we were eating” she said. After the meal, he took her on a drive and then stopped on an estate driveway and gave her a gift, not the ring yet but a pair of earrings that matched a necklace he had given her a two weeks earlier.“While were driving he pulls over the car and opens the cubbyhole, and he pulls out a box with earrings. Then he said that’s my birthday present but there is another one and he pulls out the box with the ring and he proposed.”

9. She explicates her husband Mbatha as one of the best young bassists and piano players in the country. And Nqobile has worked with acts such as Bongo Muffin, Joyous Celebration, Swazi Dlamini and Keke.

10. Her singing career was introduced to the world by her Parents (Mr and Mrs J Mbambo) who gave her the platform to sing in the church worship team.
