TOP 5 BEST NEWCOMERS THAT ARE SUMMER NOMINEES IN 2019 – The year started with a bang! Nominees for the 2019 South African Music Awards have been released.
We are aware that the established acts of the music industry will predominantly be the ones people observe to determine the status of the country’s music scene. Now, it’s the Newcomer of the Year category that reveals the future of our music industry and it has not disappointed us.
Let’s check out the Five musicians who were nominated this year and these are some of the findings we believe they deserve the accolades.
Mlindo The Vocalist – Emakhaya (Album)
Mlindo The Vocalist has a distinctive voice has saturated Mzansi’s airwaves, with his hit song, Amablesser, club banger – Amacala, attributing Mzansi’s prominent stars Kwesta and Thabsie. Thus far, we have observed songs such as AmaBlesser and Egoli are profound and rich in the content they address our social ill’s.
Paxton – This is me (Album)
Our youngest Idols South Africa Season 13 winner is resolute to demonstrate she can elevate in the mainstream. Her vision appears to be materialising as she is already booking international gigs, she is also planning a transition overseas. She is a newcomer who has come to make a statement and we can see it!
Sho Madjozi – Limpopo Champions League (Album)
Don’t we just love how passionate she is about her origins? She is the talk of the town, performing at the Global Citizen Festival in December, she rubbed shoulders with Queen B, Beyonce, LEVELS, CHANA! And she has emancipated her anticipated album – Sho Madjozi – Her music is a fusion of rap and pop, unconventional. We can’t wait for what she brings in the future.
Simmy – Tugela Fairy (Album)
You know certain rejections are a blessing, think about it! It’s astounding how she did not make it with Idols nor SA’s Got Talent, her craft needed to be launched elsewhere, look at her now, producing hits after hits. Her expertise to fuse musical genres and make delightful music speaks volumes.
Sun-El Musician – Africa to the World (Album)
He is not really new to the music scene, but South African’s took note at a later stage. He has produced some of the best collaborations when he was under a different record label. But now we dance to the top of the charts music created by the DJ. His double nomination in that category shows his hard work consistency. The house DJ has arrived and nothing is going to stop his shine with hits such as Sonini and Akanamali, who can dare?
