TOP 10 Things You Might Have Known About House Vocalist Nichume – House vocalist Nichume Siwundla, prominent for her 2017 breakout hit Bhutiza with Mobi Dixon, has since died. There are things concerning her that you might have known or perhaps not; do not be alarmed, below we have some insight on some of her life’s encounters.

- She was Born and bred in East London, in the Eastern Cape, following her Grade 12 completion Nichume studied International Relations at Stellenbosch University.
2. She narrated a song called “Heat Me Up” in which she has performed a few times, and it was not yet popular amid fans. The single was created to reveal the burning that resides in her heart.
3. Her career elevated with the December banger Bhutiza, influenced charts for weeks. Since then, she was occupied, working on releasing her potential solo project attributing the likes of Anga Makubalo, Mpumi, Lerato Mvelase and T.Love.
4. She had a pastime concerning the supervision, care for people, this led to her working as an ophthalmic technician. Although when her music kickstarted, she had to select and determine what she wanted to do with her life, she realised she wanted to heal people with her music as she could with her my hands.
5. Nichume leaves behind three siblings, Qhamani (29), Buhle (23), and Nisi (5), and she mentioned being the second child created a discipline in her life, and natured her character.
6. She realised her talent for singing at the age of 17. She was in a high school band, where she played the drums and sang.
7. She met Mobi Dixion in 2011, Nichume met Mobi Dixon through a mutual friend, DJ Anda. Although some may not know, their first collaboration was “Far Away,” but the single failed to be a success. The big break was their second attempt, which is Mabhutiza in 2017.
8. Her recent release is a dance song ” Thobela” pays homage to two of her favourite SA female musicians – Lebo Mathosa and Brenda Fassie – who paved the way for artists such as her. She recently released her second single, Thobela, is making waves, circulating the country, her career was moving to the right direction and she was becoming the next big thing. When she produced the track her aim was to motivate everyone to celebrate the humble beginnings in their lives that lead to prominence. She always wanted others to be happy, not despondent.
9. Nichume borrows inspiration from Nigerian-born Nigeria British singer, Sade, whose music is timeless and cannot be categorised.
10. The Singer is said to have committed suicide last night by jumping off a building in Johannesburg. In a statement released by her record label Top Chap Media this morning, it was confirmed that Nichume died from an apparent suicide in her Johannesburg home.
