SA Celebs Mourn The Death Of Our Iconic Musician, Johnny Clegg – Our own South African singer, Johnny Clegg has died at the age of 66 following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. 

Johnny Clegg was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the year 2015, although, he was persistent with his tour and went on to perform circulated the world.

If you can still recall, he was granted the Order of Ikhamanga as a fraction of the national orders in the year 2012.

According to eNCA Clegg’s manager, Roddy Quin was the one to give a green light, confirm that the icon’s passing.

This is what the statement had to say: “Johnny leaves deep footprints in the hearts of every person that considers him/herself to be an African. He showed us what it was to assimilate to and embrace other cultures without losing your identity. An anthropologist that used his music to speak to every person. With his unique style of music, he traversed cultural barriers like few others. In many of us, he awakened awareness.”

Clegg leaves behind his wife of 31 years, – Jenny – and they have produced two sons – Jesse and Jaron. Although, the iconic’s singer’s family pleaded that their seclusion is respected amid their mourning.

“The last few weeks have been very tough for him. He has been very strong. He fought it till the last second.”

Johnny Clegg’s manager, Roddy Quin, explicated the past few weeks for veteran singer Johnny Clegg, who died on Tuesday in Johannesburg.

It brings peace to each of us South Africans to learn that during his last moments, he was circulated by family during his last moments. He stated that the family was something close to the musician.

After a long fight of pancreatic cancer for five years, he has finally rested and it had been a tough journey for the singer.

Speaking from the Clegg family home, Quin said that he had “finally succumbed”
