Zakes Bantwini Corrects Cassper Nyovest & Shares A Different Perspective For The Unity Of SA Music – The Durban-based music, producer, dancer mogul Zakhele Madida, prominently known, Zakes Bantwini, is best known as the man who discovered kwaito sensation L’vovo Derrango.

Although, his extraordinary achievements can be dated far back, beyond signing new talent. With numerous albums under his belt, the first live House DVD in South Africa, as well as scooping winner of the Best Male Award at the 10th METRO Music Awards in 2011 and winner of the Most Gifted Video of the Year Artist at the Channel O Awards in 2011, Zakes is a musical extraordinaire.

He took to social media to respond to Cassper gassing up the Hip Hop genre in advancing forward to the future. He feels the focus should not be genre-based but to encompass the music industry as a whole.

On the other hand, Refiloe Maele Phoolo, prominently known as Cassper Nyovest, is our own rapper, songwriter and record producer and not forgetting a business mogul. He has been sharing his mind on the status of SA Hip Hop music scene, urging for solidarity to create a strong bond of the genre regardless of their dissimilarity.

Read the thread below:
“2020 for SA Hip hop!!!” – Cassper

“2020 for SA music if you want unit in the industry we must stop being genre based and be music based. If we want to push SA Music to a level where Nigerians are you Must think SA music industry then Genre movement, period.” – Zakes

“Nigeria has all the genres we have but they push Afrobeats. What’s wrong with me riding for SA hip hop cause it got me here? I have supported every genre in SA, Come on big bro. I hate these back and forths on Twitter. Rather call me if you wanna discuss this.” – Cassper

“I get you Cass, I responded on a twar you posted, you out all ppl know that I would’ve called you if I thought my point needed me to make a call. But I wish you did the same if you felt like I failed to do that. Let’s build this industry, my tweet wasn’t an attack to you.” – Zakes
What do you think? Did Zakes Bantwini exaggerate his perspective of unity for SA music or is Cassper Nyovest overly sensitive and missing the point, something to ponder on, contemplate on, what could be the solution to the future be?
