Some people have been stressed so far due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, Shimza has been having a great year still because he has been chasing the game thanks to his virtual concerts. The musician is now planning on having a live stream at Robben Island.

The musician along with his foundation, SHIMUZIC, and the Siya Kolisi Foundation, have joined to raise funds for the people that have been hurt by the coronavirus pandemic, which also includes Robben Island. “My foundation (SHIMUZIC Foundation) and the [Siya Kolisi] Foundation have partnered in a drive to raise money for COVID-19 affected families. I’ll be playing a special 2 hour set from [Robben Island],” says Shimza. The live stream will be broadcast on Mtv Base from 4pm on the 18th of July.

The CEO of Cape Town Tourism, Enver Duminy, says that since the pandemic affected the travel and tourism industry, they have to find new ways of showing people why the love Cape Town. “With this global pandemic hitting the travel and tourism industry with such gust, we need to ensure that we embark on new innovative ways of reminding the world why they love Cape Town so much. This Mandela Day performance by such a highly regarded and world-renowned artist will hopefully ignite a new passion for the significance of Robben Island, while also raising some much-needed funds for those affected by Covid-19,” says Enver Duminy.
