Buhle Haunted By A Song Titled “Uyinene” Inspired By The Student Who Was Raped And Killed – The Soil muso turned solo artist Buhlebendalo Mda has narrated a single in the recollection of the late Uyinene Mrwetyana.
The UCT student who was murdered in Cape Town. Buhle took to Instagram to share a post on the 3rd of September 2019. She explained that she slept at 4 am due to the pain and haunting of a need to produce a song that will be titled “UYINENE”.
This is what the caption had to say:
“I’m sore” reads: “Slept at 4 am. I was haunted by a song. I wrote it and I will call it Uyinene.”
The story has been making rounds on social media. Uyinene was raped and killed by a post office employee following she was there to collect her parcel.
Now, we are appreciative of Buhle for using her voice when it comes to supporting women and fighting for women’s place in society through her music.
The public is still shocked by the news of Uyinene’s passing, she has been showing empathy and sharing messages of hope in her social media pages.
