Watch! Simphiwe Dana Pays Tribute To A “Loving Legend” Dr Kani – The celebrated South African actor and playwright, one of our local stars to get international recognition.
He starred in Marvel studios blockbuster Captain America: Civil War as King T’Chaka in 2016, and reprises his role on the much-anticipated film Black Panther, alongside local actor and son Atandwa Kani, and actress Connie Chiume.
The actor was born on August 30, 1942 at New Brighton in the Eastern Cape. Simphiwe Dana ushered to social media to share visuals of herself, appreciating and giving credit to the iconic veteran stage play actor Dr John Kani.
“Dear Dr Kani, this is Simphiwe Dana, I wanted To Wish you a very belated birthday. I want to tell you how much you are appreciated in this country, how you fly the SA Flag so high, you make us look good out there. You are the epitome of grace, the epitome of creativity and talent.”
