In 2019, Cici and Arthur Mafokate have been going to and fro to court due to the alleged abuse that Cici has endured under Arthur. Now, the former label boss and boyfriend has reportedly taken Cici to court. She apparently has not paid Arthur Mafokate R60 000 based on their agreement.

The two artists have headed to court again as Arthur asks for a piece from Cici’s artistic work. The musician was supposed to give 999 Records, the former boyfriend’s label, two albums based on an exclusive artist agreement that she signed. The musician is looking for permission from the Johannessburg High Court so that she can look into Cici’s financial records since she left his record label in order for him to claim.

A clearance agreement occurred when Cici wanted to exit the record label in 2017, the agreement makes 999 Records the main owners of Cici’s future work, this involves singles and albums. This is due to the organisation having publishing rights to the work. The company also has the copyright of the albums that were released when she was directly under the record label. The documents that Arthur showed Sunday World state that the record label is set to get 6% of royalties from her albums, also another 6% of the money that is received from the albums that are to be recorded by Cici as long as they were not released three years after she left the record label.

The gigs and songs that she makes herself would be owned by the record label and the record label would be getting royalties of 12%. And 10% from the sponsorships and endorsement deals that she has a hold of the record label would get. The musician is currently part of the Ambitiouz Entertainment.
