Top 5 Most Controversial SA Radio Personalities 2019
Top 5 Most Controversial SA Radio Personalities 2019 – Many celebrities cause controversy, simply by nature of their fame — but some scandals are far more consequential than others.
With millions of followers watching their every move, celebrities are almost always at the centre of Social Media controversy. Whether they never intended to offend anyone with their post or they were intentionally throwing shade, many stars have found themselves in hot water.
1. DJ Fresh
Former Metro FM presenter Thato Sikwane, also known as DJ Fresh, was axed by the SABC from his popular breakfast show.
The public broadcaster announced on Social media after a long wait of investigation that got fans worried after he was accused of using vulgar language on air. DJ Fresh’s contract was then terminated with immediate effect, following a drawn-out dispute over the use of foul language on air.
Then allegations surfaced that Thato ‘DJ Fresh’ Sikwaneis involved in sexual assault levelled against him on social media.
On Twitter account @AmINext, which has since been removed from the social media platform, an anonymous person accused the DJ by name of rape at a popular club in Fourways.
2. Anele Mdoda
Anele was first in a conflict with Phat Joe, when he picked on her regarding her being a choice to be on the Judge panel for Miss SA. When she caught wind of the comments, the 947 host quickly retaliated on social media by calling out Phat Joe for his unsavoury comments. We have to take a moment to highlight how impressive this was because she was currently on air presenting her own breakfast show while dragging Phat Joe at the same time!
She began by commenting, “Phat Joe is so obsessed with me. Like a dog barking at cars that won’t ever stop 🙂 he should concentrate on being at a radio gig longer than 5 min.”
This was enough to make anybody regret their words but Anele was just getting started.
After entertaining the masses, the E! Presenter left a parting shot and you could practically hear the Mortal Kombat fight announcer yelling “Finish Him!”
3. Phat Joe
Phat Joe is himself the definition of controversy, what stood out for us was his commentary on a calm and chilled Wednesday morning when Phat Joe lent his opinion on one of the big stories: that’s when Anele Mdoda was judging this year’s Miss South Africa pageant which took place on Friday the 9th of August. The news broke and Anele, who was then be judging alongside Connie Ferguson and several other key personalities, was excited to be on the judging panel for one of the country’s most prestigious events but she was not without her critics – including controversial presenter, Phat Joe.
The DJ, who is fresh from his most recent suspension, suggested that Anele Mdoda was not of the right “fit” to be judging a beauty pageant. The Phat Joe and the Family host joked that she was on the panel to fill the “affirmative action” quota. Without saying it directly, it appeared as if Phat Joe was making subliminal comments about Anele’s weight, and many followers were quick to see through this.
4. Masechaba Ndlovu
You are fired! This was allegedly the news broken to radio and TV personality Masechaba Ndlovu by Metro FM management when she inquired about the renewal of her contract with the station.
Sunday World can reveal that the Metro FM Drive presenter, who co-hosted the show with DJ Mo Flava, was informed by management that her contract would not be renewed when it expires at the end of this month. It is understood that also joining the exit queue at Metro FM is talk show host Rams Mabote.
The interview has Masechaba confronting Babes about the alleged abuse by her boyfriend, the musician, Mampintsha. Mampintsha then laid a complaint with the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA, saying that he was not given the opportunity to respond.
The source revealed that even considering recent events between Babes and Mampintsha, Masechaba’s conduct was seen as

Two police officers for a second time in a month interrupted her Metro FM show at the SABC building in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, on Wednesday morning to serve her with a court summons.
She also introduced to her fas that she was now a club DJ people were not delighted, Dineo Ranaka did not waste time and hit back at those who criticised her decision to become a club DJ, explaining that she is not going to compromise herself to make others feel better about themselves.
