Unathi Nkayi Apologise’s For Her Tribalist “Xhosa” Comment – Our Idols SA judge Unathi Nkayi apologises for her comments that was suppose to be a joke concerning Xhosa people being “tired of holding up the nation”.

Addressing her followers, she admitted that she crossed the line and shouldn’t have made the joke. Unathi was dragged by Twitter firing squad on Sunday, following her commentary on live TV.

Now, in case you wondering what Unathi said: This follows contestant Luyolo Yiba on his stellar performance on the show, Unathi said: “On behalf of the Xhosa people, we are tired of holding up the nation.”

While she adds it, she dropped numerous achievements by SA icons, the likes of actors John Kani and Atandwa Kani, Miss SA Zozibini Tunzi, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi and herself, before including Luyolo on the list.

“We are finally happy that we have someone from the Eastern Cape in the finale,” she added.
