Umhlobo Wenene Cut Off-Air After Explosion – It was reported yesterday morning, that the SABC was obligated to apologise to millions of listeners following Umhlobo Wenene went off air unanticipated.
According to reports, this transpired due to an explosion at a power substation near the SABC premises in Port Elizabeth.
The SABC spokeswoman Mmoni Seapolelo, came forward after the disruption of broadcast services, although they made other alternatives, the station decided to broadcast from the outside broadcast vehicle and the technical team was toiling on fully restoring the broadcast service.
The unfortunate explosion that transpired took place in Newtown Park, Port Elizabeth, has initiated a major power outage, resulting in large parts of the city without electricity since last night.
It was not yet to be confirmed when the power station would be fixed but technicians were working hard to fix the problem.
