Ayanda Jiya Set To headline for Musiq Soulchild At Sun Arena – Musician Ayanda Jiya will open for Musiq Soulchild during his concert in March.
The singer who recently released her album, Ayandastand shared the news through her Twitter page last week.
The coming of the international superstar was publicised in the prevous year. His concert, Magic Music Sessions with Musiq Soulchild will be held at the Sun Arena Time Square in Tshwane on 29 March.
Ayanda said opening for Musiq Soulchild has always been a dream of hers.
“I’ve always wanted to open for the people I look up to when it comes to soul and R&B music and he’s one of the greatest in both genres. I just didn’t know when the opportunity would present itself. Being chosen for this is all God’s work,” she said.
This isn’t the first time she opens for an international star, she opened for Syleena Johnson at the Women of Note event in 2015.
She said this is big and exciting for her.
“I’m very excited about this gig. To actually open for someone whom I grew up listening to and someone who’s a pioneer of R&B and soul is amazing. I’m glad to be part of such a huge event, for a legend even. I’m looking forward to it.”
Ayanda will be singing alongside Elaine, Presss, Wilson B Nkosi, Msizi Shembe and Sentle Lehoko.
