Thandiswa Mazwai Slams The Government For Ill-Treatment of Black People &Urges The Public To Stay Home Amid 21DaysLockdown #Day4 – There have been videos circulating of local residents being miss treated in the name of restricting movement.
In a televised address delivered on the evening of Mar. 23, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a national lockdown and implored South Africans to make basic changes in individual behaviour and hygiene in order to minimize the spread of coronavirus.
On the 27th of March 2020, South Africans woke up with sad news that we now have our first deaths resulting from COVID-19,” Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said in a statement.
He explained the two people died in the Western Cape province, as the country went under a nationwide 21-day lockdown that took effect at midnight.
Thandiswa Mazwai took to social media to urge the importance of staying at home during these trying times. We are constantly bombarded with information, stats of the Coronavirus and its effects, so we know it does need to be taken with urgency.
Although, the conduct of safety officers appear to be taking advantage of the authority given to them. Acting malicious towards black people and not showing the same energy towards other races is the cry of Thandiswa Mazwai.
This is what the caption had to say:
@GovernmentZA
we put our trust in you to protect our rights in this time. Is this something you are able to do? Before long somebody is going to get seriously hurt. Self hating fools don’t do this in white neighborhoods! Is this your command?
