DJ Warras is the latest artist after Shimza and Simphiwe Dana that has found himself in the palms of social media users that want him to fall. Shimza was in the firing line for what he said to CeegaWaMeropa (who also ended up in the firing line) and Simphiwe Dana was in the firing line for calling men gold diggers. DJ Warras was in the firing line after his comment about the children’s grant payment.

The grant came after the announcement from president Cyril Ramaphoa to increase the children’s grant to R500 for the next five months so that the lot of people could be given relief. DJ Warras says that people should be paid to have kids that they cannot afford to support. “I don’t agree with the child grant payment, before Covid. That whole payment for children is just a shit plan. People should not be incentivized to have children they can’t afford,” says DJ Warras. That’s when Black Twitter came on and wanted him to fall. One tweep says, “ let’s finish him and his mediocre Music career simultaneously!”

One tweep says, “DJ Warras is basically saying our great grandparents should have waited until end of Apartheid to have children because they did not have financial stability under oppression.” Some tweeps agreed with what DJ Warras said. One tweep says, “I don’t like DJ Warras attitude but I agree with him, you can’t be 29, jobless, qualificationless, husbandless and then have 5 children.” One tweep says, “DJ Warras is absolutely correct. An intelligent person is a Southy who deliberately does not make a child because they cannot financially afford to.”
