Zahara has grown throughout her career as a music artist after her previous record label. She now doesn’t see the person who went to the bottle when the showbiz life was getting tough. Now, the artist and record label owner has learned bravery from her past experiences. She has stated that she has begun the year on a new note. The artist told ‘Drum’ magazine that she likes the woman that she is now.

The artist spoke about how she is not bothered by anything because she has been labelled before. “Nothing really bothers me. I have been criticised, hurt and labelled all sorts of things but I continue to stand firm because I know my purpose – to heal people through my music. That makes me sleep at night,” says Zahara. There was a moment in her career life when Zahara was broke and attacked for everything she was doing, including her drinking. The artist also broke up with her then boyfriend, Ian Sihle, after being together for over two years in 2019.

“As I grow older, I’m learning more about what I want in a relationship. I’m looking for a king to balance me. Many kings want me, but I am weighing my options. I’d rather wait for Mr Right because I’ve been burnt dating fans,” says the artist. She has been in court processes with her former label, TS Records, for allegedly not paying what she is worth. In 2019, the artist also became the first South African artist to sign a concert residency deal with the Emperors Palace hotel.
