Limpopo artists Makhadzi keeps on representing the Venda community, while also reaching high achievements. One of the achievements is her getting her own slot for her music on a music channel. The artist received a playlist that acknowledged her as an artist on Channel O.

The show titled ‘Strictly’ by Channel O played music from Makhadzi for 30 minutes. According to a Makhadzi fan, this is the first for a Venda artist. Many of the people on social that tuned in to the show were unhappy because the artist was the first Venda artist to have her own music slot. Some of the users stated that musicians from Limpopo deserve the same acknowledgement such as other musicians from other places in Mzansi. Channel O just did Strictly Makhadzi. A first for a Venda artist. Vha Venda are super proud right now,” says the musician’s fan.

“This is it. You are part of the problem. Channel O should acknowledge our musicians now and then. It is not something we should celebrate, we are happy for Makhadzi but these “first what nonsense” contributed to the looking down us as a tribe. Why are we trying so hard,” says one tweep. There were also some fans that were happy of the musician’s achievement. “We are proud of you Makhadzi,” says one tweep.
