The coronavirus pandemic has been causing a lot of chaos in the lives of people. However, for some people the pandemic was a bit of a good thing. It has helped people such as the former Idols South Africa contestant Mthokozisi Ndaba.
The virus has helped him to curb his alcohol and cigarette habit. The musician told ‘Daily Sun’ that his drinking addiction began three years ago, after Idols South Africa. “Gradually, I started smoking cigarettes. I guess I was depressed and I was doing anything to get out of it,” says Mthokozisi Ndaba. He went on to say that it became worse in 2018 as he would start his day with vodka and did not eat much.
“I realised I had a problem when I started losing belongings, was no longer seeing family and friends, and spent little time in the studio,” says the musician. He says that when the lockdown began, he had already chosen to give it up. The singer says that he kept himself busy by being busy with cooking, exercising and being with his son. His wife, Nandipha Sefoloko, says that it has been 3 months since he quit. “It’s been a long, painful journey for all of us,” says Nandipha Sefoloko.
