Musicians have been giving people content during the lockdown. Musicians that have used the lockdown to stream their shows includes music legend and Kalawa Jamzee founder Oskido. The musician’s show ‘Legends Live’ has received so much love that music it will be broadcasted on Mtv Base.
The show brings DJ legends such Glen Lewis and new DJ legends such as Shimza so that they can perform for people. The musician states that the idea came about when the lockdown started. “My son actually came up with the idea, we started streaming it every Sunday on my YouTube channel. It started getting big on that platform that’s where Mtv approached me to say wow maybe lets put this on a bigger platform,” Oskido told Citizen in an interview. He states that the show was also used to recognise legendary DJs.
He also wanted to show how music has grown over time by showing younger viewers instruments that they may not know of. He also goes on to say that one other reason why the streaming session was started was because of the tough times that it brought to musicians and DJs by cancelling gigs. Oskido says a huge amount of the earnings has been lost. The ‘Legends Live’ show airs on Fridays at 6pm.
