A social media user went on Twitter to jokingly play with the lyrics from gospel star Lebo Sekgobela’s hit track ‘Lion Of Judah’. The social media user went on to take a Shona line from the track and put a twist to it. The twist left the gospel musician confused as to where the user got it from.
The social media user translated the Shona line into isiXhosa. The line says, “Mamuri handina kutya”. The line translates to “In you I have no fear.” The user thus says, “When Lebo Sekgobela said andina kutya (meaning I have no food in isiXhosa) I felt that. The musician was confused as to when she stated that she doesn’t have food. The musician doesn’t remember saying that she doesn’t have food. “[Me]? [When],” says Lebo Sekgobela. Other social media users reacted to the statement.
One user says, “ ‘Lion of Judah’…to think I always comfort myself with that part of the song every time my fridge is empty.” One social media user jokingly says, “She is denying her own lyrics…” She thus also came in on the joke. “Good morning…P.S Fear not Food,” says Lebo Sekgobela.
