Monday Winners Of The SAMAs Announced, Musicians React To Wins. The 2020 South African Music Awards have begun.
The 2020 South African Music Awards have begun. The first few winners have been announced on the show, the show will be hosted by Dineo Langa and David Goliath. A few of the music categories were announced as the award ceremony is meant to last for a week.
The music awards that were being awarded on Monday include ‘Best African Indigineous Faith Music Album’, ‘Best Traditional Faith Music Album’, ‘Best Kontemporere Musiek Album’, ‘Best Traditional Music Album’, ‘Newcomer Of The Year’, ‘Rest Of Africa Award’, ‘Best Maskandi Album’, ‘Best Collaboration’ and ‘Best Jazz Album’. Thokozani Langa won the award for the ‘Best Maskandi Album’ with his album titled upopayi. The musician was happy for the award he won since he was in the music industry for 25 years. The highly acclaimed gospel star Dumi Mkokstad won the award for ‘Best Traditional Faith Music Album’ for his album ‘Calvary’.
The musician Dumi Mkokstad could not believe the award that he won. “I am lost of words. Than you sooo much…” K.O and Nandi Madida won the award for the best collaboration for ‘Say U Will’. This was the cherry on top for the musician. “No guys! Wait! Is this even real? I worked with the beautiful, kind and Iconic Beyonce who picked me to be in her historical visual album and then I win a SAMA…God and the ancestors are truly showing off! Thank you guys so much for your love! Thank you! I love you,” says Nandi Madida.
