SA Musicians Speak Out Against Zim Government’s Violation Of Human Rights On Zimbabweans #ZimbabweanLivesMatter. Zimbabweans have been protesting against corruption on the 31st of July.

Zimbabweans have been protesting against corruption on the 31st of July. Lead by Transform Zimbabwe leader Jacob Ngarivhume, with the support of opposition MDC Alliance and other civic organisations, and pressure groups, they also requested that ruling ZANU-PF government should leave the post. However, the protest didn’t go as planned.

The demonstrations were obstructed when numerous high-profile people such as author Tsistsi Dangarembga, international award-winning journalist Hopewell Chin’ono and MDC Alliance spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere, were apprehended by the police officials in Zimbabwe. Some of the activists have gone into hiding. Before the protests began, police officials put out a wanted list of 14 activists. Some people attempted to have small protests at their living areas after major towns and cities were locked down. The action of the police towards the people has been hurtful to many people in Africa.

South African musicians have been sending out messages of solidarity for the people protesting in Zimbabwe. The stars that have shown solidarity include stars such as Zakes Bantwini and Lady Zamar, among others. This is what some of the musicians said:
