Toni Braxton Features H.E.R On “Gotta Move On” Off A Upcoming Album Spell My Name
It’s been over 30 years since Toni Braxton signed her first record deal, a move that launched the singer’s career into heights that she could have never imagined. As a new wave of R&B artists are developing right before our eyes, Toni Braxton has continues to show the world why she’s deserving of her “icon” status. We’ve received quite a few singles from Toni recently, including “Dance” that dropped earlier this month. The songstress is preparing for the release of her forthcoming project, Spell My Name. Toni Braxton has released her new single “Gotta Move On.” Featuring H.E.R “I kinda thought, if it’s important/ You would be right here, yeah/I should’ve saw it, I seen the warnings/When you couldn’t be here, no,” Braxton sings on the track. “Tell me, would it burn Baby, if the tables turned? (yeah)/Pardon if the tables turned/Tell me, could you handle it?/See I gotta, yeah.” Contextually similar to Braxton’s other single “Do It” featuring Missy Elliott, “Gotta Move On” is about leaving a relationship that isn’t working. However, in this single, the R&B veteran is singing about herself leaving a lover instead of singing about her friend leaving a lackluster partner. The song derives from Braxton’s new forthcoming album Spell My Name, which drops on Aug. 28.H.E.R. is featured on Braxton’s single but not as a singer; she played the guitar on the track. Towards the end of the song, you can hear H.E.R.’s guitar solo.
