The amazing announcement was made on Tuesday. “Congrats [Master KG]! [Jerusalema] is now the most Shazamed song in the world,” says Shazam. South Africans stated that they are proud of the musician for promoting the country through his music. One social media user says, “Wow [this] is big for SA for SA, congrats bro keep on making us proud.” One user says, “When it’s your moment, no one can stop you. Congratulations…” One user says, “This is a huge endorsement to African music as a whole.”

Others attacked the SAMAs for not putting the song on the nominations list. Hip hop mogul Cassper Nyovest says, “The most Shazamed song inda world didn’t get nominated for a song of the year at the Samas…the Samas are a joke!! The biggest song inda world…Ya’ll should be ashamed…So happy for Master KG!!!” Lvovo says, “Samas need to apologize to save their credibility. Master KG was [done] wrong to be honest.”
