The #JohnVuliGateChallenge has been making rounds on social media. While others are focused on the challenge, others are focused doing an amazing trend called the ‘Mom VS Me’ challenge. In the challenge, social media users shared pictures of themselves with their lookalike celebs.

One user also went on the challenge, with her lookalike celeb being the legendary Lebo Mathosa. The similarities were so on point that other users asked if the late musician is really her mother and all in the name of fun, the user agreed that Lebo Mathosa was her mother. She also revealed that she definitely has vocal pipes, stated that she auditioned for the role of young Lebo Mathosa that was given to Bahumi. Some people shared their condolences. However, the fun and innocent moment didn’t sit well with Lebo Mathosa’s family because of the media.

Queen Mathosa, Lebo Mathosa’s sister, says, “Journalists who run stories based on what people say on Twitter cause so much damage. Malome called me so early asking me who this girl claiming to be Lebo’s child is. He was sooo upset [because] someone sent him the ‘headline’ via WhatsApp.” The sister knows that it is just a satirical post but the elders do not know why someone would joke about a situation like that. “They Keep saying that since it’s on Updates Africa newspaper, then they should call our family lawyer to intervene,” says Queen Mathosa. What makes it worse for the family is that the trend came on a sensitive month for the family as the late singer passed away on the 23rd of October.
